On Thursday, February 25, 2021, WJTA will be hosting the webinar Wet Abrasive Blast Cleaning Technical Committee Update presented by Lydia Frenzel, Ph.D., Advisory Council, and Chris Fulmer, CESCO/AquaMiser.
Wet abrasive blast cleaning (WAB) is the method of combining pressurized water and abrasives (and air). This webinar will focus on the equipment and methods for depainting, removal of coatings and rust, and surface preparation. The WAB Guide is jointly sponsored by NACE and SSPC, which is now a merged new organization known as AMPP.
The equipment varies significantly if you are coming from the abrasive blast industry and adding water, OR if you are coming from the water jet (pressure washer) industry and adding abrasive.
This webinar will discuss the draft guide, and the different equipment, with some comparisons to dry blasting. Topics include: respirable dust, quantity of abrasive consumed per unit area, quantity of water.
